I absolutely LOVE this shot! We had just finished picking a gorgeous load of produce from my Grandma’s garden and she always insists on washing it for me. “Well... you don’t wanna haul my dirt home, do you?”
These moments with her are so special. She’s 88 years old, is still super independent and has a pretty naughty streak that makes me laugh every time I see her. I lost my Mom to cancer 9 years ago and our near daily phone calls are absolutely priceless.
The family health history has made food REALLY important to me. My Grammy is a great example there. She eats a TON of veggies and cooks for herself everyday. Her diet and outlook on life have been a big influence on my adult years. But, as beautiful as those veggies she’s washing in the picture are... the produce isn’t what draws me there.
